ADSL Broadband: Prevention better than cure

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 12 February 2008

ADSL users have recently experienced problems with their ADSL Broadband connections caused by a combination of factors: Cable theft, power outages, thunderstorms, broken submarine cables, et cetera. In this article we will look at comical as well as ‘serious ways’ to prevent those teething ADSL Broadband problems from surfacing again.

Cable theft…

This is a tough one at best because it’s clear that we’re sitting with many ‘copper grabbers’ in South Africa that are more than willing to help with the removal of copper lines or cables. Telkom is currently replacing copper based cables with fiber optic cables but it’s clear that they are having a hard time keeping up with the ‘copper grabbers.’

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) suggests that Telkom hires Bushmen, little men dressed in browns, with bows and POISONED arrows. This should put a stop to the POISON of cable theft that is sweeping across South Africa and that are causing problems for decent South Africans, including ADSL users.
