ADSL Broadband:
Telkom to try high capacity DSL
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 8 August
2011
Telkom will be using selected exchanges to trial out the new
20 Mbps and 40 Mbps DSL. Back in March, Telkom launched a survey to find
out from consumers what their views on DSL speeds of 20 Mbps, ADSL pricing and uncapped ADSL products were
like.
It was this
survey that got tongues wagging about the prospect of Telkom increasing its fastest ADSL service from 10 Mbps to 20 Mbps. Pinky Moloi,
CEO of Telkom Group was swift to announce that the survey was merely research into what consumers would like in
the future in terms of services that Telkom
offered.
Mohloi was
adamant that nothing should be read into the survey. Mohloi added that uncapped ADSL was part of the
research and that there were no imminent plans to launch this type of
product.
