ADSL Broadband: Telkom to launch uncapped ADSL and other broadband deals

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 23 May 2011

It has been mentioned that Telkom have plans to possibly launch an Uncapped ADSL Broadband offer and that they have other plans related to broadband. Telkom gave their customers a quiz to complete with questions related to packages as they related to Uncapped ADSL Broadband and bundles that included voice minutes. It is believed by consumers that Telkom is set to launch new packages that will benefit consumers.

The survey did mention the 20 Mbps ADSL line speed and this has led many people to assume that Telkom might increase the current speed of the ADSL Broadband service to their customers. The CEO of Telkom, Nombulelo Moholi, was quick to point out that the survey was purely for the purposes of gathering research so that plans could be made about any possible future product enhancements. Telkom was merely interested to see what the clients were looking for with regards to broadband and other packages that they retail to the market.

Moholi was quick to point out that the market should not read too much into the survey. While Moholi made this point very clear, he went onto say that broadband, especially ADSL Broadband is very important to Telkom. He added that it is possible that ADSL line speed would be increased to 20 Mbps in areas where it would make sense to do so.
