ADSL Broadband: Telkom’s New Advancements in ADSL Technology

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 8 May 2011

The national telecommunication company, Telkom, has recently launched a tool that helps ADSL users to manage their usage and billing of ADSL. The tool is referred to as a data cap management tool. With this tool, users are now able to control their usage of data each month.

Telkom Internet users are able to order this as a top up solution to manage their ADSL bandwidth usage. By using this tool, ADSL users can restrict how much extra they will pay over and above their normal monthly usage. This is very helpful as it allows ADSL users to manage their spending on an item that can end up being a runaway cost if it is not monitored carefully.

ADSL users will be able to see the charge on their bill as it is will be labeled "out of bundle data." This makes it very easy for consumers, as they do not have to use their credit cards to pay for the extra data. Current Telkom subscribers can easily manage their local cap. At present they can choose to be hard capped on local bandwidth or they can add a nominated amount of gigs either on a once off basis or on a recurring basis.
