3G and
HSDPA…
It’s interesting to note that 66% of all
Wireless Broadband connections in South Africa are driven by 3G and HSDPA provided by MTN and Vodacom. Despite this, there is room for improvement if one
considers the high cost and the low usage limits of Mobile Broadband in South Africa. All is not lost
however; especially if one considers that there is a constant drive to improve Mobile Broadband in South
Africa in terms of latency, etc.
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa) is
happy to see that ADSL Broadband remains the most popular technology to connect to the Internet in the OECD.
This is despite the decline in popularity in South Africa due to the reasons stated
above.
