ADSL Broadband: MWEB and Telkom in the process of upgrading ADSL line speed

ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 31 May 2011

MWEB subscribers are excited that they will be upgraded from 512Kbps to 1 Mbps in terms of the ADSL line speed at no extra charge! The CEO of MWEB, Mr. Rudi Jansen, announced the news last week. Subscribers can expect to enjoy the faster ADSL line speed from the 1st of June 2011.

Subscribers enjoyed the liberation of Uncapped ADSL Broadband when MWEB launched this in the past.  MWEB has a philosophy of freeing the web for its subscribers and the latest news is keeping with that philosophy. The company has been quick to capitalize on the fact that Telkom has recently upgraded their network.  They are doing their best to help more South Africans to access the Internet at prices that consumers can afford. MWEB customers will now be able to enjoy uncapped data-only at 1 Mbps for R299 each month. Should subscribers want all-inclusive 1Mbps then they can expect to pay R599 per month.

Current 1 Mbps subscribers will therefore enjoy a price reduction on the 1st of June 2011. Clients who are currently on 512Kbps speed will be upgraded to the new ADSL line speed at no additional charge. By doing this, MWEB continue to lead the way in affording their clients a far greater Internet experience. They have managed to successfully combine affordability, stability and speed.
