ADSL Broadband: ADSL subscriber growth accelerates ADSL South Africa (Broadband South Africa), 23 November 2010 The latest set of Telkom financial results reveals that the number of people subscribing to the ADSL Broadband packages supplied by Telkom has increased to just short of 700 000 for the 6 months that ended on 30 September 2010.
Great news… It is great news to learn that Telkom’s ADSL subscriber base grew from 647 462 to 699 368 or with 8% in the last 6 months that ended on 30 September 2010. This equates to no less than 16% year-on-year ADSL subscriber growth.
The above is clear evidence that ADSL Broadband remains among the favourite ways to connect to the Internet in South Africa despite the success of other competing broadband technologies. It seems that a large part of Telkom’s success in this regard is due to aggressive marketing. This is great as long as they don’t sell you a tortoise and call it “ADSL Broadband” or charge you the price of a full-blooded race horse. :-) |
