ADSL best for streamed services
ADSL South Africa (Broadband South
Africa), 4 May 2008
It
was high-lighted in a Financial Mail article recently that ADSL Broadband remains the connection of choice
when it comes to streamed services such as VoIP.
The reason why ADSL Broadband remains the connection of choice
is because its consistency of speed ensures a much better throughput than the throughput achievable with
Wireless Broadband. The throughput of Wireless
Broadband is inconsistent at best because the speed of such an Internet connection fluctuates the whole time. It
therefore doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that inconsistency in terms of throughput or speed is
not good for streamed services such as VoIP, live video streaming, etc.
